Halo, Risk and Basketball

This last week was a good one. On Wednesday, I went up to Salem and played some basketball. It was probably the best I've played ever! We started at nine and left at midnight, so putting in three hours of basketball makes for a pretty good day for me. Then on Friday, my buddy Taylor brought himself over to my house at seven. With him was the new game HALO REACH! It was the coolest thing I've ever seen. Him and me were playing then Gavin and Trevor came over. We were there till twelve thirty and that's when we started feeling like...people who stay up all night playing video games and decided to stop playing. I expect we will play again some night this week. Finally, Saturday night, what started as a friendly game of soccer ended in a huge fight for global conquest. We, Gavin, Seth, Sage, Collin, Max, Garret, Braden and I, went to the high school to play soccer for a while. We forgot that you can't really play soccer when the sun goes down. So once it was dark we went back to my house. Previously in the night we had my dad record the Oregon Boise state game. The best part of that game was watching Rodgers after he got his concussion. We finished watching that at 10 and then started a game of Risk. It started out somewhat fare, it was only Seth, Braden, Trevor, Gavin and I playing. Braden and Trevor had never played before, so we helped them out. The game looked pretty easy to win, but 2 hours later, Seth and I were defending our home fronts while the people we taught how to play, Braden and Trevor, teamed up and formed a super power. An hour later, around one in the morning, Trevor's mom called and said he needed to go home. Seth and I had teamed up and had destroyed Braden, weakening our forces. Trever still held North America, minus Greenland, and he could turn in next turn. We took a picture of the playing field and our cards and plan on resuming the game at a later time.

College...

College...Is certainly a different experience. I didn't know what to think of it at first. It is nothing like high school...I don't know anyone, I can't talk any of the teachers into a few points, and I don't know ANYONE. Yes, I pass some people in the hall I can say high to every now and then, but other then that. Despite all of this, I love college. It's good. I havn't had that much homework and when I do have to write a paper it's only 1 or 2 pages. What they do have in college that is like high school is double space papers thank goodness!!!

Dear IN-N-OUT Burger

This is the story of how IN-N-OUT burger got me to state:

I have been a swimmer for most of my teen years. I started my senior year on the high school swim team, picking up on a pretty good end to my junior year. Mid-season, I was keeping pretty consistent with my times with the previous year, swimming around 58 seconds in my hundred free and around 27 seconds in my fifty free. These times were alright, but all around me people were dropping times left and right and here's Cooper with his same old times. I got pretty excited when I cut of tenths of a second.
One day, after school, all the swimmers were in the coaches room talking about the last meet we had before region. It was in Lehi. Now you might be unfamiliar with this news, but you guys recently put an IN-N-OUT in American Fork. That is close to Lehi. I asked my coach if we could possibly go there after the meet. Being familiar with the lines that usually accompany my favorite fast food place, she said no. Trying to sound as serious as possible I asked if we could go if I swam really fast in the upcoming meet. She was not big on taking risks so she said if I swam a low 54 in my race we could go to IN-N-OUT. 54 seconds was the, then, current state qualifying time. With out a blink I accepted the challenge.
I was going to have to drop 3 seconds in a race I was already going pretty fast in. The day of the meet came and I was sitting at the pool with my cliff energy bar, some power bar goop, and a powder energy packet for my water from my dad. I was nervous. I asked my coach if the goop stuff was legal, she said if was and also gave me my new favorite energy booster, shot blocks. I had two of them and instantly felt the energy go through my body. My first event was our medley relay. I swam my freestyle split the fastest I had every swam it. I had ultimate confidence in the power of the shot blocks.
The rest of the team had heard about me and my coaches deal, so the whole meet I was bombarded by people telling me to win. My race came up and I have to admit I was feeling nervous for the first time. The whole day I hadn't even thought once that I couldn't do it. I got up on the block and the only thing going through my mind was 54, 54, 54! When the signal telling us to go went off, I dove in. I can't really explain what happened. The only thing I know was that for some reason my arms weren't hurting, I didn't feel tired when I started my second fifty, and I was kicking like I had never done before.
When I touched the wall, I looked up at the board that kept the times. Guess what? They were having technical difficulties. Luckily my team was cheering loud enough that I knew I had made it. When I went over and talked to my coach, she was overjoyed. My final time was 53.6 and it is still the fastest time I have ever swam. We went to IN-N-OUT burger, and it was the best burger I have ever eaten from the best burger joint around.
That time qualified me for state, and hopefully I can beat it when stated rolls around on February 6th.
Thank You,
Cooper Urmston,
A die hard IN-N-OUT fan

I'm Fine

There has been alot of questions about how I am on my blog. I would just like to say that I am doing fine. In fact, I'm doing wonderful. I shaved my legs for the first time for swimming, but it helped, I dropped 6 seconds in my backstroke and 5 in my I.M. So yeah. Now we here at cooperurmston.blogspot.com would like to ask all of you: How you doin'?

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Hello

How you doin?

Another Second

First off, Lacy got a hold of the "S" key on my dads keyboard, so if you see a random "s" in the middle, beginning or end of a word, sorry. You may not see one because I caught them all, but if you do...sorry, again. We had another meet, and it was against richfield. The boys one by forty points and almost none of the girls showed up so our girls lost by seven. I swam the I.M. again. That rhymes if you say it out loud. I am starting to like this stroke. I was swimming against
Rapheal (Raf-i-el) Durtchi (Dur-chi). He is the other "I.M."er. That ryhmes too, kindof. So we get up on the block, this won't be as discriptive as my other one, and the person says go. I dive in and figure I'd be pretty psyched if I got a 2:33 again. I saw Durtchi on my back to breast turn and he was right next to me. That was the moment I decided I was not going to lose this race. I kept up with him on the breast and then went as fast as my little arms would carry me on free. I dropped another second. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, who ever can tell me what that is and who owns it (not the trainer) and who the owner was keeping frozen in carbonite, is cool.

Did it Again

As I step up on the block I slap my head a few times, getting into the zone. Butterfly, back, breast, free. Butterfly, back, breast, free. That's whats going through my mind. In that dull, almost monotone, voice that only those buzzer people can have, the words, "take your mark" are registered in my brain. I bend down and wait patiently for that recognizable yet indescribable noise that signals me to go. As it sounds, I dive off the block. I start into that powerful stroke, the butterfly. All I'm thinking is, "35, 35, 35". I touch the wall and turn around, I'm in the lead. Yes!!!
I start to feel my arms burn as I approach the touch pad. I grab the wall and go into backstroke. "Keep your head back", I can hear my coach keep saying, "Head back, butt up!" I see the flags, " 1, 2, 3, flip!" I turn and push off the wall. I keep swimming. My worst stroke is coming up, breaststroke. I see the other flags and count to five. I touch the wall and turn. I'm still in front, WHAT?!?!? There is no way I was going to lose this race now. I start my breaststroke and, while fighting the urge to hurl the pasta noodles we ate before this, started going as fast as my bad form would take me. I finished that fifty, and I was still in first. I only had to finish the freestyle now. I sprinted as fast as I could, did an awesome flip turn, and finished on the wall. I looked up at the clock, 2:33. I was almost as happy as when I broke the 1:00. I got first, it was sweet. Up next I had my 100 free. I was not leaving that pool without a 58. I got in and started swimming as fast as I could. I touch the wall and looked up. 59.66, I slapped the water in anger. Then I realized an important fact. I was in lane eight, not 1!! HaHa(candice)!! I looked at number eight, just hoping it was a 58. 58.99, YES!!! Right on the edge. It was awesome. We ended up getting 2nd in that meet. I also swam on the Medely B team and the 400 A team. It was pretty sweet.

On another note, I looked up tanners band, TANNER, It was somthing else. All the songs I listend to it sounded like a somebody trying to imitate the B-52's and throughing in a hard metal beat to it. It was weird there was one that was decent, but other than that....yea.

In English

(It didn't translate correctly)

Hello! This entry blog special for the biggest alive man, Mr. Cooper Urmston, will be done in Spanish. Yes! For that one the extraordinarily wonderful people there that proves to say tounge native of the Mexican people, these following prayers are not rags in you. They are simply my way of doing the diversion of those people who cannot say this languege. Let's understand? Of course the ironic thing consists of the fact that used a Spanish translator for the whole matter, HaHa! (only for you candice). So those idiots no people of sense will have it nor designs. I am going to assume that if you manage to translate this one, this will not have sense. These a few last weeks they have been well. I have to fix this one before something more happens. We had to find this last Saturday, and I did depositor. I dropped two seconds in my free 100 and 100 behind. Now I have one 1:01.15 in my free style and one 1:15.something in my back. I would have fallen down more in free me, but I spoilt one of my returns of flip. Then this one later is we have I break a minute. Also I tried for the basketball and did not do it. Ah well. I go to next year. I will fix the translation next week.

En Espanol

¡Hola! Ah bien. Voy al próximo año. Fijaré la traducción la próxima semana.

The Title of This Entry Is...

First of all i would like to know how you guys fancy up your blogs. I'm stuck with this plain old boring stuff I had two choose form the begining. Second of all, I got a job. Actually I've had it for a month now. I didn't say it in my privious post because...you come up with this one. I finnaly got paid!!! 129 bucks, dollars, moneys, cold hard cash, bills, moolah, dough, greenbacks, gold pieces (I like to incorperate all ages, races, ethnicities, (both) genders, time zones, ect. as I can!). I plan to pay my tithing with 10% of it and then, in the words of my good friends Aerosmith, blow it all(not those exact words). HAHAHAHA. Not really. I am going to by the new Metalica album and, when it comes out, the new AC/DC album. It's gonna be awsome. Then with the rest of it...I'm gonna need Ideas. I got save it and thats it.
Now for a random thought, this auto save thing used to really push my buttons; however, I almost lost all this entry once, and it saved it. Yippee. Now here's a picture

Yes, I drew this and I know you guys have all been dying to see another one. I had a hard time with this one, and you'll never guess what my problem was. The name. I had know Idea who I was. Was I Victor Frankenstein, creating an "evil" monstor, or was I Dr. Bruce Banner, exposed to the blast of my own gamma bomb. Yes I used Wikipedia to get myself learned on the backgrounds of these two Extordinary...Creatures, heros, things? The Hulk or Frankenstein? You dicide.

Sorry.

Um...do to lack of comments on my pictures, I wasn't planning on putting on anymore. We went to cali and I realized that people do look at them, think there great, and are just to lazy to put on any comments. That's my optomistic view. I could post my pessamistic view...but I might offend somebody. Give me a few days or somthing and I'll have 'em up. For the moment I have some pictures that I did not draw:
Subject: ME
Photography: MY MOTHER
Details: I was way mad. I was sick of pictures and wanted nothing more to do with them. I also think those clothes were a little itchy. I hope you get a good laugh, I was having one. The whole time I was thinking, "what is my mom gonna do with these...HAHA!!!" My plan backfired and now I'm a laughing stock. :(

PICTURES!!!!

Well aparenty their is a huge rage about this new "artist" kaitlin. I decided to take a look at her work and was imidiatly inspired. I wanted to start drawring/paintinng. So I started to drawr. I was having so much fun that I just couldn't stop. I think that I can compare my self to kaitlin...she did not teach me tho. I was just getting down the basic shapes...then I decided to step it up a (k)notch. So, some of these drawrings are a little complex and some of them may seem very simple. Here we go:

What the...

I know I just posted yesterday...but as i was alooking through the rest of your blogs and leaving messages I realized somthing. Having to type in those darn letters bugs the crap out of me. I don't know if the rest of you experience this inconvinence, but throughout this post I have put up pictures of what the criminals look like. Why do they do this. What gain do they have from making us type them. I guess I could log in and it might solve the problem, but who knows. At the
very least make them say somthing, I mean those words mean nothing.

Hey...heY

Yeah so the first week of June Mason Porter and I went to EFY. That was great. Me and Mason Shared a room. And Porter got a roomate. Unfortunatly Porter was not in the same group as us. It was a very interesting week. When we got back from EFY we went our separate ways. after that I had a ton of swim practice and it is very early in the morning. Totaly worth it though. Other than that I really don't do much, unless I am working on the house, which isn't as often as I had thought it would be. I have seen Iron man and Get smart. Both excelent movies. Both funny. I was a little disipointed with what I have read about hancock. Every has told me it is a good movie, contrary to what the reviews say and some other various people. So I guess that one is a no go for now. We have had a few swim meets. I have a 27 free and a 31 fly, both improvments. My I.M. is doing so hot. I have a 2 54. not my fastest time. I'm going to have to work on that. It sure as heck feels like I am going a lot faster than 2 54. this last meet I couldn't even stand after it. My birthday is coming up...I'm supposed to think of party Ideas...great. I love parties. At least I love to go to parties. Planning them is a different story. I asked my mom today if we could forget the party and if I could just get a mini coop. She didn't respond. Mabye she didn't hear...hmm. Well if you guys have any suggestions, bring it.
